Raptor's Rest, this is a true Bed & Breakfast. i.e.  We have you stay in our home.  It is not an inn or a lodge but a home wher you will always be able to relax and where your privacy, safety and well-being will be our goal.  We invite you to make our lives more interesting and yours that little more laid-back listening to the many birds that frequent our lush sub tropical garden and the sound of running water in our water features.
Raptor's Rest Bed and Breakfast is situated in Empangeni and offers home from home hospitality in secure surroundings. Awake to the sound of bird song and the tranquillity of the country in our comfortable en-suite bedrooms. Relax and wind down around the sparkling pool after a busy day's work.
A full scrumptious breakfast is served personally by John every morning.
Dinners are to be requested at the time of booking with any dietary requirements mentioned then.
There are designated areas for smoking.
No pets are allowed but you may enjoy ours while you stay.

Hluhluwe and Umfolozi wild life reserves: ( One hour ) from Empangeni,
"BIG FIVE" parks : (One hour) from Empangeni.
'World Heritage Site": St.Lucia, (one hour) away from Empangeni.

Travelling north of Durban through the lush sugar plantations of the Zululand coastal belt it is a one and a half hour trip to Empangeni, the gateway to the world renowned wild life reserves of Hluhluwe and Umfolozi. These two "BIG FIVE" parks as well the 'World Heritage Site" of St Lucia are only one hour from our doorstep.

Travelling from the N2 (Durban) or the John Ross Highway (Richards Bay).  Approaching the four-way stop, Grantham Highway, and the Engen Garage on your right.  Follow straight along this road, pass President Swart road on your left, do not turn into this road.  Carry on along the Old Main Road, where you will pass three sets of robots.  As you reach the fourth set of robot, take a left turn.  The Police Station should now be to your left and the Boxer Cash and Carry to your right.  Travel along this road, Weightman Avenue, pass the Fire Station that will be to your right.  Reaching the end of Weightman Avenue, take a right into Raptor's Rest.

Booking in between 16:00 hrs and 18:30 hrs. Other times by prior arrangement. Non arrivals will be charged full rate. Cancellations less than 48 hrs e.t.a. charged at 25% of rate. Suppers are to be requested at time of booking and served at 19:00 hrs Monday to Thursday. There are designated areas for smoking.
